It's not intentional, but the single-player mode can feel unnerving to some players. Likely because the Ambient Noises and Graphical design. A mod called "Background NPCs" can make it feel less creepy. The game can become intense if the player decides to spawn certain enemies.

Those are called Missing Textures. You may be missing a game of sorts that was imported into the game files. You may have to buy one of many (not free) games by Valve. Except for the original Half-Life 2, because Gmod is just a HL2 Mod.

Textures in Garry's Mod are stored in the Valve Texture Format, or VTF.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\. It's simple, and the easiest part of the guide. In your GarrysMod/garrysmod/ directory, you will see a folder named "cache". Delete it.
